Jo Hendren, the owner and
proprietress of Hideaway Cottages, has been providing quality vacation homes to discerning
guests for 24 years. Her daughter Myra Southern is the general manager for Hideaway
Cottages.
Jo was recently named to the 22nd edition of
Who’s Who in America and has served on the Governor’s Task Force of
Tourism and the Arts,
the Smoky Mountain Visitors’ Bureau Board of Directors, and The Blount County
Historic Trust Board of Directors. She is a member of the
Blount County Chamber of Commerce and The Nature Conservancy. Jo is devoted to preserving
the natural beauty and history of Townsend and to providing a haven for resident wildlife.
Jo is married to Chick Hendren and is the mother of three
grown children. She and Chick live at the foothills of the Smokies in nearby Maryville.
